Supporter Engagement Coordinator

The Can:Do Group encompasses two of South Australia oldest charities, Can:Do 4Kids, Townsend House and Deaf Can:Do, The Royal South Australian Deaf Society, and also incorporates Can:Do Hearing, an audiology business whose profits directly contribute to Can:Do 4Kids and Deaf Can:Do services.


With over 145 years of experience, we are the leading experts in specialist services for people who are Deaf, blind, hard of hearing or have low vision in South Australia.


The Supporter Engagement Coordinator will;

  • Coordinate campaigns in order to increase philanthropic support including;
    • Major Gifts
    • Appeals and Direct Mail
    • Bequests and Legacies
    • Regular Giving
    • Collections
  • Maintain, update and manage our CRM
  • Develop our database of supporters through ongoing acquisition activities;
  • Own the supporter engagement journey and implement and maintain related records, systems and processes.

Working closely with the wider Communications and Engagement team, you will ensure that activities, processes and training are in place to deliver a donor-centric experience to all Can:Do Group supporters, leading to the achievement of philanthropic income targets in order to support the strategic outcomes of the Group.


The right candidate will possess the following attributes:



  • Experience in database administration and/or CRM management
  • Understanding of direct marketing and communications
  • Understanding of philanthropy and fundraising activities
  • Ability to successfully work within budget and time requirements
  • Experience in developing effective partnerships with  internal & external stakeholders
  • High level written & communication skills 
  • Ability to establish and deliver effective reporting and analysis


  • Knowledge of philanthropy, donor relations and donor behaviour would be well regarded
  • A working knowledge of marketing principles would be well regarded
  • Knowledge of databases or fundraising systems, in particular Raisers Edge CRM

  • Support and work with people with diverse backgrounds, value systems, cultural differences and special needs;
  • Be self-directed and able to work under pressure;
  • Effectively work as part of a team; lead and motivate others;
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity and reliability.
  • Auslan skills would be well regarded.

Total remuneration package:-


The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition to base salary you are able to enjoy generous salary packaging, increasing your take-home pay. Further salary-packaging benefits available include meal and entertainment expenses, accommodation and venue hire and additional superannuation contributions.
